Es muss nicht imer Punkrock sein.

Nach 30 Jahren, in denen ich mich in meiner Freizeit ausschließlich als Sänger in verschiedenen Bands betätigte, beschloss ich, bedingt durch die Corona-Pandemie, 2021 mit der abstrakten Malerei zu beginnen. Anfangs malte ich noch nackt und berauscht zu lauter Musik, doch schnell lernte ich die Vorzüge bequemer Kleidung, einer Tasse Tee und vollkommener Stille zu schätzen.

Die großformatigen Werke, die einst den Großteil meiner 1-Zimmer-Wohnung einnahmen, habe ich nach und nach hinter mir gelassen. Heute ist mein privates Wohnzimmer mein Atelier. Ich arbeite nach dem DIY-Prinzip und erledige, von der Montage der Keilrahmen bis zur Bespannung der Leinwand, alles selbst. Die gegenständliche Malerei hat mich nie interessiert; stattdessen verwende ich Holzleisten, Spachtel, Schuhsolen oder Autoreifen, um die gewünschten Ergebnisse zu erzielen.

Als Autodidakt habe ich nie gelernt, ein bestimmtes Thema umzusetzen. Ich male intuitiv. Für die Farbgestaltung nehme ich mir jedoch Zeit und trage die verschiedenen Schichten über mehrere Tage hinweg auf.

Im Jahr 2022 habe ich meinen Debütroman „Fucked by Rock and Roll“ veröffentlich und 2025 erscheint zum 10-jährigen Bestehen meiner Band Kamikaze Klan das dritte Album mit einem Video zu dem Song „Malmö“.

It doesn’t always have to be punk rock.

After 30 years of singing in various bands in my spare time, I decided to take up abstract painting in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. At first, I painted naked and intoxicated by loud music, but I quickly learned to appreciate the benefits of comfortable clothes, a cup of tea and complete silence.

I gradually left behind the large-format works that once took up most of my one-bedroom apartment. Today, my private living room is my studio. I work according to the DIY principle and do everything myself – from assembling the stretcher frames to covering the canvas. I have never been interested in figurative painting; instead, I use wooden strips, spatulas, shoe soles or car tires to achieve the desired results.

As an autodidact, I have never learned to realize a specific theme. I paint intuitively. However, I take my time with the color design and apply the different layers over several days.

In 2022, I published my debut novel “Fucked by Rock ’n Roll” and in 2025, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of my band Kamikaze Klan, I will release the third album with a video for the song “Malmö”.
